Have you ever had an unexplained illness, pain or ailment in your body and, when you try to rationalize it you just come up blank? The medical belief system in which we were raised is still very much focused on the human body as a machine, made up of many parts and therefore, by ‘fixing' or replacing broken parts, we can fix the machine. When operating in this belief system therefore, it is not always obvious that a physical ailment may have its origins in the emotional realm. Stress is a great example of this. Stress can be the causal factor of much Dis-Ease in the body. It can cause muscular tension, digestive distress or dysfunction, extreme fatigue and depression, and hormonal disturbances and deficiencies. Stress is not a surface diagnosis however, so rather than addressing this causal factor, the surface ‘symptoms' are often addressed. This method of diagnosis and prescription simply becomes a band-aid. The western science of quantum physics, and the ancient eastern medical system of Ayurveda, work on the premise that everything is energy and therefore everything is connected. We now understand that our body is not separate from its environment, in fact it is just an extension of its environment, and everything that is exchanged with our physical body has an effect on our health - our food, our environment, our situations, people, our thoughts, our emotions. Our physical body is the representation of the larger body of energy that surrounds us. It is not a ‘machine' made up of parts. Your body appears solid and constant, but it is constantly transforming and metamorphosing. Here are a few scientific facts about your physical body:
Why then do we have recurring physical symptoms, and chronic Dis-Ease in the physical body? The strongest possibility is that this occurs because energy is transferred from the old cells to the new cells - the memory of Dis-Ease in the old cells becomes the reality for the new cells. With this understanding, and an acceptance of the possibility that everything is energy, we can start to accept that we can enhance our physical health by addressing causal factors, which have their basis in more subtle emotional and spiritual realms, rather than just placing a band-aid on the physical symptoms. If we can only accept that our physical body is all there is, we are stuck at this level. We are constantly trying to solve our problems without recognition that we are actually much larger than we appear to be. When we know that our physical body is an extension and representation of our larger environment - because it is all energy and therefore all connected - we have the ability to take responsibility for what is happening in our environment. We have the understanding that our food, our environment, our situations, people, our thoughts, and our emotions all impact upon our physical health. We have the ability to understand that our physical symptoms are attempting to communicate a greater level of Dis-Ease in our body. This knowledge assists us to realize that our symptoms actually have a positive intention and that, if we can listen to our body's messages we can address this Dis-Ease at a deeper level. This of course means that there is less chance of the symptoms recurring. To communicate with your symptoms is not difficult.
